Easy Chow Mein – An quick and easy version of the classic restaurant style chow mein that you can make at home in just 20 minutes!
My mother was always big on manners. Mind your P’s and Q’s, say please and thank you, don’t spit like a boy…. yep, she had to tell me that. She was especially strict on table manners. No slurping, no chair tipping, eat all of your food. And I remember the day we were out to lunch at the local China Platter restaurant, downing some my favorite egg drop soup, when she taught me that even though we don’t usually do it anymore, you’re supposed to scoop your soup away from you. Have you tried that? Um, awkward. I gave it two or three bites and gave up. Thankfully she didn’t add that lesson to her list of every day must-mind manners.

Apparently I’m still learning my table manners… I just learned that it’s rude to stand your chopsticks in your food. What?! Who knew! Something to do with dishonoring ancestors? Unfortunately, I only learned this after I photographed this bowl of incredibly delicious Easy Chow Mein. My other shots included a whole bunch of pictures with my chopsticks standing in the bowl. OOPS. So… that is why I only have one photograph for you today (a Creme de la Crumb first!). Will you ever forgive me? Of course you will. Because I’m sharing a ridiculously easy Chow Mein recipe with you that you can make in 20 minutes at home. I think I’ve redeemed myself here.
