- Sugar: To sweeten things up!
- Baking Powder: For a nice rise in the oven!
- Salt: To balance the flavors.
- Cinnamon: Warming fall-inspired spices like cinnamon go really well with the caramel apple flavors in this cake.

Expert Tips
- Serve it warm! The best way to serve this easy caramel apple dump cake is warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. If you don’t have ice cream, try it with some whipped cream!
- Add pecans! For a nutty addition, add some crushed pecans! They also add a lovely texture.
- Use a cake box mix for ease, and omit the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Then sprinkle a little cinnamon on the cake for the added flavor.

That looks perfect! Such a great use for homemade caramel sauce ๐
I agree! Not that pouring right on top of the ice cream isn’t already a stellar idea… but putting INSIDE makes it even better!
This recipe looked so good and I made it right away. I decided to cut the sugar in half and the mix tasted great and certainly sweet enough for us. My only question is that when it froze, there were lots of very large ice crystals. I didn’t whip the cream mixture. did I do something wrong?
Hi! Hmmmm, that’s strange, I haven’t had that issue with this recipe! Did you cover the container when you put it in the freezer?
