Why This Recipe Works
Pizza Cookie Perfection: This pizza cookie, aka pizookie, is a giant skillet cookie that is the perfect dessert for a family or a couple of friends to share! I made a peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookie here. So it has all the best of every single kind of cookie in one!
Easy to Make: If you have ever enjoyed a pizookie cookie at BJ’s restaurant, you know just how delicious they can be. But you don’t have to go out to enjoy one these cookies! Make it easily at home instead. This cookie dough is super easy to make, and can be made ahead of time! Or, double the recipe and keep half of it frozen to have a pizookie skillet cookie whenever the craving hits!
Ingredients
- Flour: All-purpose flour works great here! To make a gluten-free pizookie, you can use a gluten-free replacement flour.
- Baking Soda: Baking soda helps the cookie to have a bit of rise in the oven!
- Salt: To balance the flavors.
- Old Fashioned Oats: Old-fashioned oats add a chewy, delicious texture.
- Butter: Use room temperature butter! This is essential to being able to cream the butter and sugars together.
- Brown Sugar & Granulated Sugar: A combination of brown sugar and granulated sugar adds the right amount of sweetness with a caramely flavor!
- Creamy Peanut Butter: This is a peanut butter chocolate chip skillet cookie that uses creamy peanut butter!
- Egg: Make sure to use a room temperature egg for best results.
- Vanilla: For added flavor!
- Chocolate Chips: I used semi-sweet chocolate chips here. You can use dark chocolate or milk chocolate instead!
- Ice Cream: The best way to serve a pizookie is warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!

This looks amazing! Definitely pinning. As soon as I hear “the best” whatever recipe it may be, I’m instantly needing to know what it is and what it tastes like.
so, what if you do not have a iron skillet and want to try it, what are the other options to get the same results everyone loves ?
Hi! I definitely recommend using a cast iron skillet for this recipe. However, you could try baking these as individual drop cookies and bake for about 9-11 minutes on a cookie sheet. ๐
Does it need to be a cast iron skillet??
If you donโt have a cast iron skillet, you can make this in a cake or pie pan instead!
