There’s nothing like pecan pie around the holidays. So sweet, chewy, nuttyโฆand that brown sugar filling โ chef’s kiss! But sometimes you just don’t have the time to make a pie you know? Or you want “just one bite” but then you take that bite of pie and then you eat the whole thing anyway. These pecan pie roll ups are the answer to all of these problems โ quick, easy, and bite-sized (okay or two or three bites) โ to satisfy that sweet tooth and craving for pecan pie in one delicious package.
Here’s How You Make It
You could really have everything ready and pop these in the oven while someone else does the dishes after dinner. (But more on that below.)
- First, preheat the oven to 400 degrees and lightly grease or line a baking sheet with parchment paper or use a nonstick baking mat. (not pictured)
- Next, unroll the crescent dough and gently separate the triangles. Sometimes they don’t want to separate nicely, that’s when a knife or pizza cutter would come in handy to make nice, clean lines. (photo 1)
- In a bowl, stir together the pecans, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and melted butter. (not pictured)
- Now, add a scoop (about 2 tablespoons) of filling to each crescent roll more toward the wide end. (photo 2)
- Gently roll up each pecan-filled crescent starting with the wide end of the triangle and rolling toward the skinny pointed end. Place these pecan pie roll ups on your prepared baking sheet about 2-3 inches apart. (photo 3)
- Put in the oven to bake for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. (photo 4)
- While the roll ups are baking, heat up the caramel sauce a bit in the microwave or on the stovetop. (not pictured)
- Finally, drizzle the caramel sauce over the top of the roll ups and finish with a sprinkle of cinnamon-sugar if desired. Serve warm. (see below)

Ideas for Customizing this Recipe
- If you donโt want to do roll ups, you could also make mini pies by using refrigerated pie crust. Thaw out the crust and lay it on a lightly floured surface. Cut circles out of the dough using a large biscuit cutter. Put the circles on your prepared baking sheet and add a tablespoon of pecan pie filling in the middle. Fold in the edges toward the filling. Pop in the oven for 8-10 minutes or till golden brown.
- Combine nuts by using chopped pecans with walnuts, pistachios, or even cashews.
- Add fudge sauce instead of caramel โ or both (just be sure not to overdo it or they’ll be very messy).
- Alternately, you could add a few mini chocolate chips to the top of the pecan mixture before baking if you want a hint of chocolate without so much mess.
Expert Tips and Tricks
- This recipe makes 16 roll ups, and I consider a serving two roll ups.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 48 hours, or in the fridge up to five days. Reheat 1-2 at a time for 10-20 seconds in the microwave.
- Make ahead directions: Mix the pecan mixture together and put in the fridge. When you’re ready to bake, put the pecan pie roll ups together and serve!
- Save even more time by buying pre-chopped pecans. You can usually find them in the produce section or the baking section of most grocery stores.

Pecan Pie Roll Ups
Ingredients
- 2 packages refrigerated crescents
- caramel sauce - for topping
Filling
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- โ cup brown sugar
- ยผ cup flour
- ยฝ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ยฝ cup butter - melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees and lightly grease or line a baking sheet with parchment or a nonstick baking mat.
- Unroll the crescent dough and gently separate the triangles. (I like to use a pizza cutter to get nice even lines)
- Stir together pecans, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and melted butter.
- Add a scoop (about 2-3 tablespoons) to each of the triangles, at the wide end. (I always error on the side of too much filling, I like it to spill out the ends a bit.)
- Gently roll up each crescent starting with the wide end of the triangle and rolling toward the skinny pointed end. Place on prepared baking sheet 2-3 inches apart.
- Bake in preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
- While roll ups are baking, heat caramel sauce a bit in the microwave or on the stovetop.
- Drizzle caramel sauce over roll ups. Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon-sugar if desired. Serve warm.

Great recipe! So easy to make! Taste wonderful
What sort of flour did youuse
All purpose flour was used.
Very good. I didn’t have any caramel so just used a powdered sugar glaze on them. I only made half the filling recipe and it was plenty.
